Radio Continues To Go Ga Ga in the UAE

Q4 2018 Audience Measurement Report
A quick look at the topline figures of the UAE Radio Audience Measurement Report, which offers a comprehensive measurement of listenership across the nation, reveals that Dubai and the Northern Emirates were predominant in driving the growth in listenership this quarter, while Abu Dhabi maintains the highest listenership with an almost 100% radio reach.

Who’s tuning in and for how long?
A whopping 93% of the total population listens to the radio each week, with an average time of nearly 8 hours per listener per week. Radio is succeeding in bridging the generation gap!

Radio is on the rise after sunset
Contrary to popular belief, radio peaks with a cumulative listenership of 70% between 6-10 pm, followed by a 54% cumulative listenership between 7-10 am and a 40% cumulative reach between 2-4pm. Looks like radio is the ultimate way to unwind after a long day at work.

Radio is still popular on radio
Even in the age of the Internet, the most popular device to listen to the radio remains a radio! This is followed by 38% on a mobile device platform and a mere 8% on the Internet. Talk about being old school in the new age.

Radio speaks your language
With listenership at a 100% amongst Emiratis and expat Arabs and over 90% for Western, South Asian, and East Asian expats, it is safe to say that a global appeal for local radio can be found only in the UAE.

Radio in the UAE continues to ride the waves of popularity, ending 2018 on a high note.
